Barnacle Goose with Canada Geese -- Mann Lake, Nez Perce County (Latilong 4) -- 4 October 2003.

CURRENT STATUS: This species is not on the official Idaho Checklist, as questions of origin abound for these geese observed outside the Northeastern USA. Indeed, there are no accepted records of this species in this part of the country. Barnacle Geese sighted out here are best treated as escaped birds. This is the only photo of this species to be included in this gallery until evidence suggests "legitimate" records should be accepted in this region.
