The photo is of a juvenile Yellow-bellied Sapsucker and the documentation includes information that meets the minimum requirement for a record; date, location, photographer, and photograph.

The photograph is diagnostic

I'm staying with my first round vote for the same reason.

While the timing of this juvenile bird, and the plumage look good for a YBSA, there is no description. I need more info before accepting a picture, no mater how good.

OK, I;ve changed my mind. The photo seems quite convincing, and the juvenal plumage this late also points to this species.

I was convinced of YBSA because:

1) The bird's crown was brownish, but heavily mottled with paler feathers.

2) The bird still retained juvenile plumage in late September.

I'm still convinced.

This pic shows the lighter, finely-streaked crown that distinguishes juvenile YBSA from RNSA.

Same comments as first round.

I wish we had more (any) written details about the bird. The molt timing and plumage do point toward Yellow-bellied Sapsucker however.

The written description is nice supporting evidence of this bird being a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker

I can provide a description if needed (I was present when we caught/banded & ID'd the bird)
