| 06-13-2007. Shirley Sturts -- Accept Even though the report was prepared 3 and 1/2 years after the observation, the stripped head of this species is very distinctive and thus hard to confuse with other species. Also, there was more than one experienced birder. |
010-01-2007. Sturts -- Accept I'm staying with my first (to accept) vote for the same reasons. This report is strengthened by a 2nd report being submitted. |
| 06-16-2007. Dave Trochlell -- Accept Although these "way after the fact" descriptions are far from ideal, I'm convinced of the veracity of this identification. Special kudos to Cliff for putting together this difficult bird report! |
010-05-2007. Dave Trochlell -- Accept Although late, these reports were quite convincing and covered all of the important field marks of this sigularly unique looking species. My only regret is that I'll probably never have the opportunity to view the video of this very special bird. |
| 25 June 2007. Darren Clark -- Reject, specific identification not established I saw this bird and know the identification of the bird is accurate (I wasn't there during the initial discovery as Cliff says in the report however). I also saw video documentation that the discover of the bird obtained. Unfortunately, he has not shared the video with the committee. Unfortunately I am rejecting the record because no evidence is available for review, which I think is important for a first state record. |
13 Nov 2007. Darren Clark -- Accept Though I'm still hesitant given the passage of time between the sighting and the report (I'm as guilty as anybody since I saw the bird), I accept the record. It helps that a number of people saw the bird. |
| 6-30-07. Carlisle -- Accept multiple observers & good (albeit late) description |
11-11-2007. Carlisle -- Accept no change from 1st round |
| 1 July 2007. Hardy -- Reject, specific identification not established The higher standard for first state records precludes accepting this record. I think we should solicit a second report from one of the other observers, or have them otherwise corroborate Cliff's report. The description is sufficient for WEWA. Timing and habitat and behavior are OK. |
4 October 2007. Hardy -- Accept I am able to accept this report without reservation now that a corroborating report has been submitted by a second observer. Diagnostic fieldmarks described. |
| 07-02-2007. chuck trost -- Accept Good description, even if from memory. |
010-06-2007. chuck trost -- Accept Good and adequate descriptions. Marty collar found the bird and despite the fact that he does not want credit, this should be recognized. |
| 8-4-07. Charles Swift -- Accept No doubt this was the species reported. Still, as in the Mourning Warbler, it would be nice to have some more information or additional reports on a first state record like this (especially one seen by multiple observers). Thanks to Cliff for taking the time to make sure it was included in the record - even much after the fact! |
11/29/07. Charles Swift -- Accept See previous comments. Additional supporting reports useful. |
