field marks observed were of this species - could it be the same bird as 3-B-07?

Description sufficient to confirm identification of Whimbrel. This bird was in the same location as another Whimbrel reported in Aug., '87, IBRC record #3-B-87. The August bird (4-B-87) was reported as an probable adult and I feel the description, as well as the timing of the record, concur with that assessment. This individual, #4-B-87, was reported as a juvenile. The description matches a juvenile and the timing, late Sept, is consistent with what's expected for a juvenile. Therefore I am confident that this is a different individual than the one in record #3-B-87 despite the fact that both sightings were at the same location.

Good description. Sounds like the same general area as the previous sighting 50 days earlier (the 50 intervening days making it unlikely to be the same bird as stopovers tend to be under 10 days). And, I'm assuming Chuck had checked the area between sightings ...

Good description. I presume we don't have to consider Eurasian Whimbrel based on range??
