10-27-2007. Sturts -- Accept Well described, similar species were eliminated
10-30-07. Carlisle -- Accept Good, thorough description.
10/30/07. Cliff Weisse -- Accept The description includes relevant field marks to confirm the identification of Upland Sandpiper.
11-11-2007. chuck trost -- Accept Good description. Nothing else quite like this species with the field marks mentioned.
13 Nov 2007. Darren Clark -- Accept The habitat seems a bit unusual for this species, but I have seen them in mudflats and pond edges in Louisiana. The description seems to rule out other species.
11-16-2007. Dave Trochlell -- Accept I believe the identification was correctly made, but the part of the description that reads: "A line of scattered white feathers along scapulars" was troubling. Upland Sandpiper doesn't have white scapulars, but perhaps this is a reference to pale feather edges that appeared white from a distance? I was also suprised that the bird's underparts - its white chest and belly - were not described, since these features would provide an obvious contrast to the relatively darker upperparts. Perhaps they were not in view from the observer's vantage point.
11/29/07. Charles Swift -- Accept I'm convinced this is an Upland Sandpiper (despite a difference of opinion on what constitutes a "long bill"!).
