BEHAVIOR: Stunned, but alert

HOW AND WHEN DID YOU POSITIVELY IDENTIFY THE BIRD, AND WHAT CLINCHED THE IDENTIFICATION FOR YOU? The first encounter was too brief to positively identify, but this second bird was clinched by the up-close photo -- green back, eye stripe, breast color
HOW DID YOU ELIMINATE SIMILAR SPECIES, AND WHAT WERE THEY? I can't think of any other species which would confuse with this one.

EXPERIENCE WITH THIS SPECIES (AND SIMILAR SPECIES): Observation at feeders mostly.
GENERAL BIRDING EXPERIENCE: Been birding since 1982; have submitted one rare bird report for Rose Breasted Grosbeak which I understand was accepted.
