DESCRIPTION: There were lots of male and female Western Tanagers in the yard. I looked out the window and saw a female tanager perched on the top of the hook that the oil seed feeder hangs from. She caught my attention because of her solid greenish back and the lack of wing bars. I walked to the other room to grab my camera and when I came back she was gone and I never saw her again.
BEHAVIOR: She was just perched there on the hook looking around.

HOW AND WHEN DID YOU POSITIVELY IDENTIFY THE BIRD, AND WHAT CLINCHED THE IDENTIFICATION FOR YOU? I had seen a female Scarlet Tanager at Silver Creek I think in 2008. When I saw this wing barless female in the yard I mentally "flashed" to that sighting and her "plainess" was immediately obvious as compared to the other female tanagers in the yard.
HOW DID YOU ELIMINATE SIMILAR SPECIES, AND WHAT WERE THEY? See above.

EXPERIENCE WITH THIS SPECIES (AND SIMILAR SPECIES): Just the sighting at SCP in 2008.
GENERAL BIRDING EXPERIENCE: lots of experience

WERE PHOTO(S), VIDEO, AND/OR AUDIO OBTAINED BY YOU?: None
