Shirley Sturts -- Accept Peg (now deceased) lived on Hayden Lake and could view the lake easily from her house. She was a very careful observer and took many notes on her observations. |
07-05-2007. Sturts -- Accept I am staying with my 1st round vote for the same reasons. |
|
Chuck Trost -- Accept This is a remarkable record because of it's date. But the description of a breeding plumage red-throated is excellent. This is obviously a careful observer. |
07-14-2007. chuck trost -- Accept It still seems that she knew what she was looking at, and described it well. The date is bothersome, but birds do get delayed. |
|
Dave Trochlell -- Accept I accept this as a record on the strength of P. Hughs's good description. |
07-12-2007. Dave Trochlell -- Accept I still support this record. |
|
Carlisle -- Accept Critical fieldmarks noted. My only question has to do with time of year as I expect this species during spring & fall migrations - not mid-summer. |
7-10-07. Carlisle -- Accept Description matches breeding-plumaged RT Loon |
|
Cliff Weisse -- Accept The field marks described eliminate all but Red-throated Loon |
7/8/07. Cliff Weisse -- Accept Written description is consistent with winter plumage Red-throated Loon. I'm somewhat skeptical because the report contains a notation stating that 3 individuals were observed in Nov 1985 but the report is convincing otherwise. This species is possibly annual in very small numbers. |

Dumroese -- Reject, specific identification not established This record, along with 13-B-88, just makes me feel uneasy. I guess I'm having a hard time with breeding plumaged RTLO in Idaho in June on 2 consecutive years. It also makes me nervous that a report written 6 years later can be so precise about weather 5 days before the sighting. And, the first report doesn't mention a gray neck but the second report does... |
17 July 2007. Hardy -- Reject, specific identification not established This is a composite record; some of the records are well-described, others are inadequate. |
|
Charles Swift -- Accept Minimal description but sufficient for this species in breeding plumage. |
7/29/07. Charles Swift -- Accept I'm voting to accept the June 1981 sighting. It looks like there are additional records mentioned in the write-up. |
