Shirley Sturts -- Accept

Well Described - careful and competent observer

Sturts -- Accept

I'm staying with my first vote for the same reasons.

Chuck Trost -- Accept

Good description, remarkable record because of date.

07-14-2007.

Again, the date seems wrong, but the description seems right.

Cliff Weisse -- Accept

Description matches adult RT Loon in alternate plumage.

7/8/07.
Cliff Weisse -- Accept

Written description is brief but includes diagnostic field marks including black and white stripes on the nape which is shown by no other loon. The date is unusual but I see no reason to suspect that this individual is of questionable provenance.

Dave Trochlell -- Accept

I accept this as a record on the strength of P. Hughs's good description.

07-12-2007.
Dave Trochlell -- Accept

I still support this record.

Carlisle -- Accept

Critical field marks noted.

7-10-07.
Carlisle -- Accept

description matches breeding-plumaged RT Loon

Dumroese -- Reject, specific identification not established

This record, along with 7-B-87, just makes me feel uneasy. I guess I'm having a hard time with breeding plumaged RTLO in Idaho in June on 2 consecutive years. It also makes me nervous that a report written 6 years later can be so precise about weather 5 days before the sighting. And, the first report doesn't mention a gray neck but the second report does...

8 July 2007.
Hardy -- Accept

Alternate plumaged birds are straightforward to identify; this report provides sufficient description for identification of RTLO in spite of the unusual June sighting date.

Charles Swift -- Accept

As with previous record, minimal description but sufficient for this species in breeding plumage.

7/29/07.
Charles Swift -- Accept

This could only be a breeding plumage Red-throated Loon so I again vote to accept. (The only concern is that we don't know if the report was prepared from field notes but that is partly a limitation of the form.)
