04-24-2007. Shirley Sturts -- Accept The field marks fit the Red-shouldered Hawk. However, according to Wheeler and Clark the juvenile California has white cresent-shaped wing panels and it the Eastern that has the rufous wing panels. I was wondering if this might be the Eastern race.
4/24/07. Cliff Weisse -- Accept Field marks in description consistent with identification of Red-shouldered Hawk.
4/25/07. Charles Swift -- Accept Good description. (one has to wonder what this species is doing flying south past an Idaho hawkwatch in the fall!)
04-26-2007. Dave Trochlell -- Accept Jay has described the major field marks one would see with an imm. California RSHA flyover on this one, so I am totally confidant of his identification.
29 April 2007. Hardy -- Accept Experienced observer describes several diagnostic field marks.
05-05-2007. Carlisle -- Accept I saw the bird & critical details mentioned.
05-06-2007. chuck trost -- Accept Sounds good to me for a juvenile RSHA
