Although a photograph would be ideal. Cliff seems to mention all features that support the identification of this bird as a Pine Warbler and his description seems to eliminate all other species.

Anybody can describe a distinctly-colored bird with relative ease, but it is assuredly difficult to describe a subtle-colored bird like a fall Pine Warbler. In my humble opinion, Cliff accomplishes this job very well in his report.
