List similar species and tell
how you eliminated them:
-All vireos are eliminated by the presence of white tail spots.
-Combination of face pattern and obvious white wing bars eliminates all warblers except Bay-breasted, Blackpoll, Yellow-rumped, and possibly Olive, and Cerulean.
-Cerulean Wabler is eliminated by lack of pale supercilium, long tail and large tail spots.
-Olive Warbler is eliminated by lack of dark eye line, lack of pale supercilium and dark auricular patch, stout black bill, bright yellow wash on breast and throat, and long tail.
-Yellow-rumped Warbler is eliminated by lack of yellow rump patch, unstreaked flanks, and lack of bright yellow wash on breast.
- Bay-breasted Warbler is eliminated by long tail and long projection beyond undertail coverts, white vent, and white undertail coverts.
-Blackpoll Warbler is eliminated by long tail and long projection beyond undertail coverts.
