Conditions (e.g. weather, prior weather, light conditions, distance, optical aids, duration, etc.): 10X binoculars. Distance as close as 20 yards.
Description of bird(s) (size, color, all field marks you observed, field marks not seen, etc.): Olive brown upperparts, white underparts, breast heavily spotted with black, central crown stripe orange framed by dark lateral crown stripes, bold white eye ring.
Behavior of this bird(s) (song or calls, other birds with this one, interactions, etc.): This bird foraged on the ground and flushed into trees when disturbed. No interactions with other birds observed.
List similar species and tell how you eliminated them: Thrushes seem more similar then other warblers but are eliminated by orange/dark striped crown, as are all other warblers.
What is your experience with this or similar species?: I’d seen Overbirds on several trips to Missouri and NJ prior to this sighting.
