| 06-13-2007. Shirley Sturts -- Accept Field marks noted where that of the Mourning Warbler. Other similar species were ruled out by lack of white eye-arcs or eye-rings. More than one experienced observer saw the bird. |
010-01-2007. Sturts -- Accept The report by Charles Trost, which was written the day of the observation and signed by several other experienced birders, was found after the 1st round of voting. Also, there was an additional report by Darren Clark. These two well written reports add support for a First State Record status for the Mourning Warbler. I am staying with my first round vote, to accept the record. |
| 06-16-2007. Dave Trochlell -- Accept I'm convinced on this one. |
010-05-2007. Dave Trochlell -- Accept These were very convincing reports, with all major field marks described. |
| 25 June 2007. Darren Clark -- Reject, specific identification not established This is an unfortunate record. I saw the bird, as did several other people. I know the bird was a Mourning Warbler, but some documentation, photos, notes, sketches etc.. should have been obtained (I'm as guilty as anybody). I'm rejecting the record because no documentation was obtained. |
04 Oct 2007. Darren Clark -- Accept I'm much more comfortable accepting this record with the inclusion of Chuck's Report. |
| 6-30-07. Carlisle -- Accept Not sure about the record # (there is a discrepancy between the report page and the 'records to review' page. Multiple observers & important field mark noted. |
11-11-2007. Carlisle -- Accept well described |
| 1 July 2007. Hardy -- Reject, specific identification not established This is a sufficient description for me of a Mourning Warbler, but this report needs a corroborating note or second report from one of the other observers to meet the documentation requirements for a first state record. |
4 October 2007. Hardy -- Accept The addition of two more corroborating reports means I can vote to accept this record without reservation. |
| 07-02-2007. chuck trost -- Accept I should have submitted a report, as I saw the bird too. Cliff captures it fairly well. |
010-06-2007. chuck trost -- Accept Nice to have several descriptions. Adequately observed by several people who should know. |
| 8-4-07. Charles Swift -- Accept It would be nice to have some more information or additional reports on a first state record like this. The brief description of the lack of eye crescents is enough to eliminate McGillivray's in this species group. Other experienced state birders also observed this bird and there does not seem to be a debate on its identity. Thanks to Cliff for taking the time to make sure it was included in the record! |
11/29/07. Charles Swift -- Accept See previous comments. Additional supporting reports useful. |
