010-01-2007. Sturts -- Reject, natural occurrence questionable I accept the identification as a Mandarin Duck but it was probably an escaped bird.
10/4/2007. Cliff Weisse -- Reject, natural occurrence questionable The description looks good for Mandarin Duck. Given the behavior described and the fact that waterfowl escapees are regular in the area I feel this is most likely a captive reared bird. Viewing the video may be helpful.
010-06-2007. chuck trost -- Reject, natural occurrence questionable There is more than an excellent chance this bird was an escape from captivity.
10/8/2007. Charles Swift -- Reject, natural occurrence questionable The report mentions the likelihood of this being an escape and I would concur. The species is commonly kept in collections and reported by birders in the wild from time to time (I've seen several myself). From what I've read the species is unlikely to be a natural vagrant from Asia.
010-16-2007. Dave Trochlell -- Reject, natural occurrence questionable Exotic
18 October 2007. Hardy -- Reject, natural occurrence questionable Report describes a Mandarin Duck drake, most likely an escaped captive-raised bird as the species is not accepted yet as having made it to this continent under its own power.
12-12-2007. Carlisle -- Reject, natural occurrence questionable I'm confused about why we're voting on this if it's clearly an exotic.
