I’m a little concerned by the lavender-ish appearance of the facial lines but the observer is experienced and his description states that the lines were pale blue.  In addition the mantle and coverts have a pinkish cast to them in the photo suggesting that facial lines could be influenced as well.  All other field marks in the written description and photo, including the gray legs with reddish knees, are consistent with Glossy Ibis.  The iris is dark and the paler coloration of the iris on the nearby White-faced is visible in the photo.

The combination of good discussion and comparison of the primary marks separating the rare Glossy (Plegadis falcinellus) from the common White-faced Ibis (P. chihi), with excellent photographs and observer experience, lead me to accept this record.
