After reading the report a 2nd time, I am changing my vote to a reject. I agree with the comments made about the Ringed Turtle-Dove not being ruled out.

Cliff Weisse -- Reject, specific identification not established

The bird seen was likely a Eurasian Collared-Dove but field marks necessary to eliminate the very similar Ringed Turtle-Dove are not included in the description, including color of primaries and undertail coverts.

I still feel that there is not enough detail in the description to eliminate Ringed Turtle-Dove.

Dave Trochlell -- Reject, specific identification not established

Unfortunately, the observer does not adequately differentiate this record candidate dove from Ringed Turtle-Dove.

As stated in the first round, I don't believe the description adequately differentiates this candidate dove from the similar African Collared-Dove (formerly Ringed Turtle-Dove).

To be consistent, I should vote 'no' due to lack of critical fieldmarks. That said, it's very likely the bird was an ECDO

Charles Swift -- Accept

Some of these accounts do not completely eliminate Ringed Turtle-Dove as possibilities but obviously E. Collared-Dove is the likely suspect and widely reported in southeastern Idaho in this time frame.

I'll go along with others but still feel this is very likely a EUCD, probably among the vanguard in e. Idaho and now well documented as being established in the Salmon area.

chuck trost -- Reject, specific identification not established

I'm not convinced that this wasn't an escaped ringed turtle dove. They look quite similar, and the tameness of this bird makes me suspicious.

Again, the tameness and lack of definitive separation from a ringed turtle-dove make me suspicious.

dumroese -- Reject, specific identification not established

I feel this report lacked sufficient detail (no mention of dark primaries, squarish tail, dark outer tail feathers, etc), only stating it looked like a ECDO on a website. Compared to the other 9 current reports being voted on, this one does not convince me.

Hardy -- Reject, specific identification not established

I don't feel strongly about this record one way or the other. While the report does not describe fieldmarks to distinguish from similar Ringed Turtle-Dove, it does mention that species as being smaller and whiter than the bird seen. This shows that the reporter is aware of the similar species, a good sign, but perhaps is not aware of the diagnostic undertail pattern.
