| 12-17-2006. Shirley Sturts -- Reject, specific identification not established Stacy says in his documentation, "could not conclusively eleminate the Ringed Turtle-Dove". I think this is neceassary for an accepted record. The Ringed-Turtle-Dove is sold in pet stores and I know they escape from captivity because one was at a feeder of a friend of mine a couple of weeks ago. |
010-22-2007. Sturts -- Reject, specific identification not established I'm staying with my first vote for the same reasons. |
| 12-18-2006. chuck trost -- Reject, specific identification not established The critical features that separate this species from ringed turtle-dove were not noted. |
11-11-2007. chuck trost -- Reject, specific identification not established If Stacy says he couldn't separate this from a turtle dove, I believe him. |
| 12-21-2006. Carlisle -- Accept Maybe saying 'accept' isn't careful enough (because of confusion with Ringed Turtle Dove) but ... |
01-06-2008. Carlisle -- Reject, specific identification not established Very likely correct but not separated from RNTD. |
| 12/26/06. Cliff Weisse -- Accept Description includes relevant field marks. |
10/30/07. Cliff Weisse -- Reject, specific identification not established After reading comments from other Committee members and reading the report again I agree that the undertail coverts are not adequately described. Therefore Ringed Turtle-Dove can not be conclusively eliminated. |
| 01-05-2007. dumroese -- Accept Nice description. Good detail. |
24 October 2007.
Hardy -- Reject, specific identification not established As reporter notes, the similar Ringed Turtle-Dove could not be eliminated. |
| 01-05-2007. Dave Trochlell -- Reject, specific identification not established Regretably, I voted to reject this one because the accompanying report didn't adequately describe the candidate bird's undertail coverts, nor did it compete the candidate with Ringed Turtle-Dove. This is especially critical in Canyon County, where escaped Ringed Turtle-Doves occur. |
010-24-2007. Dave Trochlell -- Reject, specific identification not established As in the first round, I rejected this record because the description doesn't adequately rule out African Collared-Dove (formerly Ringed Turtle-Dove). |
| 1/11/07. Charles Swift -- Accept Good description for species well established and expanding rapidly in southern Idaho. |
1/3/08. Charles Swift -- Reject, specific identification not established I'll go along with others but still feel this is very likely a EUCD and now well documented as being established in the area it was reported from. |
