The report is intriguing but I don’t feel there’s quite enough detail in the description and the observer sounds unsure of the identification.

The size and stubby bill fit that of the Cackling Goose

I am still convinced that this is a Cackling Goose.

Small size and stubby bill sound pretty good, but more description would be better.

I still feel that the size and stubby bill rule out CAGO.

It's likely that the observer actually saw a Cackling Goose, but his report was just too brief to be convincing to me.

I'm going to reject this one again, for the reason I expressed in the last round.

size & bill shape sound good

I can see other voter's concerns that not enough details are presented ... (but the Mallard-like size still sounds convincing to me)

The Mallard-similar size reported would indicate a minima, but it is not clear whether the size was judged only in comparison with the adjacent geese. A good candidate for Cackling oose, but report needs further detail.

The written description doesn't rule out small Canada Goose subspecies.
