I'm staying with my accept vote. I think the description and photograph is adequate.

Chuck trost -- Accept

The small goose in the middle of the other three seemed to be this species for certain, but I wouldn't guess on the other small bird to its right. The description of the bird and its bill size seemed adequate.

I'll stick with my previous comments.

Cliff Weisse -- Reject, specific identification not established

Photos are not sharp enough to see details of head and bill. Description does not include bill size and shape or forehead angle. These may well be Cackling Geese but the report is not conclusive.

Upon re-examination of the photo I feel that the bird on the right does inddeed appear to have the short heavy-based bill and square head typical of Cackling Geese. Although you can't see enough of the bill on the smaller looking individual it does have a dark breast and very short neck. The bird's size coupled with the short neck and apparent reduced width of white cheek patch convinces me that this bird is also a Cackling Goose.

Dave Trochlell -- Accept

For this candidate, the documentation photo provides compelling evidence to support the acceptance of this record.

I'm going to "stick to my guns" on this one, too, and vote to accept the center goose in Terry's photo as a Cackling Goose record.

Carlisle -- Accept

Photo shows 1 certain Cackling.

As with 41-B-06, I still think that one bird here is a Cackling based on size and chest color - even though the photo is not ideal

Charles Swift -- Accept

The smallest is most certainly a "minima" Cackling Goose. (I'm wondering if the slightly larger bird is a Richardson's or Tavener's Cackling Goose.)

Again, concur w/ Cliff (who appears to be keeping us honest!). Subject could well be Cackling but photo is not conclusive.

dumroese -- Accept

I think the written description is sufficient and the photo compelling.

The small goose in the picture is clearly of a different subspecies than the larger geese, but it is more than half as big as the presumed moffitti companions, which does not eliminate the smaller CANG subspecies.
