I accept this report for Cackling Goose. That said, I wondered if these Cackling Geese were actually hutchinsii and not taverneri, because of the steep forehead illustrated in the accompanying drawing.

well described ... I do wish for photographic evidence, esp. when dealing with so many individuals. I believe that this many can occur in Idaho but it'd be nice to have a photo.
