It could be a Black-billed Cuckoo but I don't feel the bird was seen well enough to make a positive ID. |

This report is convincing to me but I'm concerned about the brief nature of the sighting so I'd like to see what other Committee members think before voting to accept this record. |

While the observer’s experience should weigh in considering this record, I’m just not comfortable accepting a definitive identification on such a brief encounter of a species which can be tough to distinguish from the similar Yellow-billed Cuckoo (Coccyzus americanus) in many situations. |

I had two areas of concern with this sighting. One, as the observer/reporter readily admits, the sighting was very brief. Secondly, although the description might eliminate Yellow-billed Cuckoo, it doesn't address other cuckoo species, no matter how unlikely their occurrence might be in Idaho. With only one previously accepted record of Black-billed Cuckoo in Idaho, I believe that any future sightings of this species would need to be carefully and thoroughly documented. |

The view was too brief and no bins were used on this fly by. I need more evidence on such a rare sighting. |

An important report, but too brief a sighting for comfort. There are only about 6 previous reports for BBCU in SW Idaho, |

The sighting was just too brief (and unexpected) for me to feel comfortable accepting this report of a pretty rare bird in Idaho and the west in general. |
